It was a revelation, a creative awakening that reignited her creative soul.
"It was finally in 2018 that I ended my career as a veterinary assistant to start my own business as an animal artist by creating Lila Mystic Woods."
Lila's decision to pursue her wood-burning art as a full-time career was a challenging one. She had spent years caring for animals as a veterinary assistant, a rewarding and emotionally demanding path. Yet she sensed a calling—an powerful pull toward her actual calling as an artist. She made a massive leap of faith, embracing the uncertainties ahead and believing in her artistic ability.
She settled in Finland in 2020 with her pack of sled dogs. Today, she is delighted to be able to offer animal lovers portraits of their four-legged companions but also unique original works inspired by nature and imbued with spirituality. Lila's artistic journey flourished. She poured her heart and soul into honing her craft, perfecting her technique, and immersing herself in the world of animal art. What kinds of wood did she use?
Most of the boards she used are made of alder wood with a uniform light color and regular grain. She has been using the exact carpentry for many years because she can say it is an exceptional quality wood. However, Lila also enjoys experimenting with other types of wood. For instance, she occasionally incorporates chestnut wood into her works, particularly for her original pieces.
